New York (77WABC) – The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office has said that three arrests have been made in connection to a drive-by shooting in Vineland, New Jersey that killed a 10-year-old girl over the July 4 weekend.
According to police, Jasayde Holder was inside of a home on the 700 block of W. Earl Drive at the time of the shooting. She was taken to Inspira Medical Center where she died. Xavier L. Bogan, 20; William L. Harris, 28, and Karonjah N. Witt, have all been arrested.
Bogan is charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, as well as in connection to another shooting that took place on Francine Drive earlier in the evening. Harris was charged with first-degree murder as well as the Francine Drive shooting. Witt was taken into custody in relation to both shootings and charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder.
The state will move for the pretrial detention of each defendant. There have been nearly 24,000 shooting deaths in the U.S. this year alone.
