Queens, NY (77WABC)-A pedestrian died early this morning when she was struck by the driver of a sedan and then run over by an MTA bus. The NYPD says neither driver stopped.
The NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad says 67-year-old Caroline Connors of Queens attempted to cross 70th Street an Eliot Avenue in Ridgewood around 12:44 am when she was fatally struck by the driver of a sedan knocking her to the pavement. Police say the woman was then struck by an MTA bus also heading east of Eliot Avenue. Police say neither driver stopped at the scene.
Police did not say whether either driver was aware that the woman had been struck. It’s not known where the woman was heading from or two at the time of the fatal impact.
Connors of 61-09 69 Lane was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
