Wash. DC (77WABC)- Attorney to former President Donald Trump and 77WABC Host Rudy Giuliani has had his law license suspended in Washington DC. The ruling came Wednesday from the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. In a two-page order, the court cites Giuliani’s suspension in New York last month as the reason for its action. A New York appeals court suspended the former NYC Mayor’s law license for allegedly making false statements while trying to get courts to overturn Trump’s loss in the presidential race.
Giuliani’s was suspended from practicing law in the state of NY on June 25th. The ruling, without a hearing, cited his “false and misleading statements” about the election loss of former President Trump.
The suspension in New York is temporary, pending the outcome of a full formal disciplinary hearing.
It was alleged that widespread voter fraud in key battleground states raised questions about the legitimacy of President Joe Biden’s victory in the Nov. 2020 election.
The NY law firm of Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins, who is representing Giuliani, has not yet commented on the suspension in Wash. DC.
