JAMAICA, QUEENS—(77WABC) Normal operations have resumed at JFK Airport following a water leak that caused the FAA to hold most flights destined for the airport.
The leak was reported in the main facility of the airport. Controllers operated from a secondary control tower during the leak.
The airport remains open, but travelers may experience residual delays.
Travelers are urged to contact their airline for specific status on their flight.
JFK controllers are operating from a secondary control tower due to a minor water leak in the main facility. Operations at this facility, combined with area weather, require more spacing between aircraft. As such, the FAA is holding most flights destined for JFK from departing.
