Albany, NY (77WABC) The impeachment probe into (D) NY Governor Andrew Cuomo is moving forward. Assembly Judiciary Committee Chair Charles Lavine said Wednesday the Assembly’s Judiciary Committee will issue subpoenas to request documents from witnesses. The inquiry is to determine if there are grounds to impeach Cuomo.
The Manhattan law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell will conduct interviews under oath for the committee.
The investigation into Cuomo began in Mid-March, however the Committee has said little about the probe.
The Democratic Governor faces several federal and state investigations over his administrations alleged cover-up of nursing home death totals during the Covid19 pandemic and there are multiple sexual misconduct allegations against the 3 term Governor.
Cuomo has publicly denied allegations of sexual harassment. He has said all along that he and his administration were following changing CDC guidelines related to Covid19.
