St. George, Staten Island (77WABC)-An NYPD Officer on routine patrol with another officer suddenly felt pain in the right shoulder while on Richmond Ave. on Staten Island around 7:40 Monday night. Police say the officer had been struck with a pellet from a BB gun in the right shoulder.
The officer was taken to Richmond University Medical Center and treated for a minor injury.
It is not known who fired the BB gun or what direction the shot was fired from. An investigation is ongoing.
Police do not yet have a description of a suspect. The name of the officer is not being released.
