AMSTERDAM
New York, NY (77WABC)- A gunman is at large after a 19-year-old was shot while playing basketball last night at a court outside the Amsterdam Houses on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The teen was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Gale Brewer the Manhattan Borough President was at the Amsterdam Houses last night for the annual basketball tournament at the Amsterdam Houses when the shooting occurred. She said she had been coming to the tournament for the past several years. Brewer said there were many players and children around at the time of the shooting.
An investigation continues. So far, police have made no arrests.
