Albany, NY (77WABC)-NY State has hit a Covid19 milestone. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office announced Sunday that NY State has hit a record low hospitalization rate for Covid19. 300 hospitalizations due to the viral pandemic were announced by the Governor’s office on Sunday, marking a record low since the start of the viral pandemic.
“We’re finally putting the COVID-19 pandemic in the rear-view mirror, and more New Yorkers are getting vaccinated every single day as the numbers continue to come down,” Governor Cuomo said. “Getting shots in arms is the key to our future, and we’re offering several exciting incentives to New Yorkers across the state who haven’t yet been vaccinated. Taking the shot protects your family, friends, and community, so if you haven’t been vaccinated, please walk into a site or make an appointment today.”
The 7-day positivity rate has fallen to 0.34%. Five deaths were reported statewide due to Covid19 on Sunday, bringing the state total to 42, 957.

The Archdiocese says masks are no longer required to be worn during mass at Roman Catholic churches in New York for those who are vaccinated.  sent updated guidance to Parishioners who are not vaccinated must wear masks.
Parishes are also no longer required to conduct additional cleanings and disinfection.
