Oakdale, NY (77WABC)- A Hemstead man is under arrest in connection with Sunday’s alcohol-related fatal crash that took the life of a 73-year-old Sayville man. Suffolk County police say they arrested 56-year-old Noel Pastora of 140 Front St., Apt. 2 in Oakdale following the crash on Eastbound Sunrise Highway.
Police say Pastora is charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He was held at the Fifth Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, June 27th. Police say Pastora was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota westbound in the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway, west of Locust Avenue, in Oakdale when his vehicle struck an eastbound sedan at 1:49 a.m.
The driver of the sedan, identified as 73-year-old Dominick Capizola, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the fatality continues.
