New York, NY (77WABC)-Police say they’ve arrested a homeless man in connection with an attempted rape during the early morning hours of June 5th on East 33rd St. A 27-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when she was suddenly grabbed from behind . Police say Aaron Baker placed both of his hands around the woman’s throat, pushed her against a storefront gate, pulled down his pants, and attempted to rape her in front of 28 East 33rd St.
The woman broke free from her attacker. He then fled on foot.
Baker was arrested on Tuesday, June 22nd, and charged with attempted rape, sex abuse, and attempted sex abuse. Police have not said what tip or information led to the man’s arrest.

Police say the woman suffered an abrasion to her head and was treated on scene by EMS.
