77 WABC owner and operator John Catsimatidis and ‘Bernie and Sid’ show host Sid Rosenberg introduced New York City’s republican mayoral nominee Curtis Sliwa as he held a press conference in Midtown, Manhattan. Catsimatidis highlighted that Sliwa would encourage people to come back to New York after the pandemic drove many New Yorkers out of state. He also stated that Sliwa is a man that we can trust to handcuff criminals and to support the NYPD.
Rosenberg, resident of New York City, spoke about how he feels as though the current state of the city is unsafe. He followed up by saying that Curtis is the one who knows how to combat crime in New York City better than anybody, and that he’s saved many lives in the city in his four decades with the Guardian Angels. He added that Curtis has done all of this, without any pay.
As Sliwa approached the podium, he received a round of applause for his recent victory in the Republican primary election. He reflected on his days working for 77 WABC and how he considers it his home away from home. In his speech, Sliwa highlighted many of the points from his campaign, including his plans to rid New York City of crime from the perspective of an everyday New York City citizen. Following his speech, Sliwa answered questions from the press. Last night was a historic moment for Curtis Sliwa, the winner of the NYC republican mayoral primary election.
