NY: Percoco sentenced to 6 years for corruption
New York, NY (77WABC)-Another controversy is brewing in the circle of people surrounding NY Governor Andrew Cuomo. The Governor is under two separate investigations; one for alleged sexual harassment and the other involving an alleged coverup related to nursing home death totals in the state of NY during the Covid19 viral pandemic. The Governor has repeatedly said he did nothing wrong related to the investigations.
The NY Times is reporting one of Cuomo’s sisters, Madeline, allegedly donated and raised money to help pay the legal fees of the Governor’s former aide, Joseph Percoco.
While Gov. Andrew Cuomo distanced himself from an aide convicted of bribery, his inner circle was quietly funding the aide’s legal defense, emails show. https://t.co/AO6cwJKttV

Percoco is currently serving a six-year sentence on bribery and corruption charges for accepting more than $300,000Â from companies that sought to gain influence with the Cuomo Administration. He was sentenced on September 20th, 2018, by Judge Valerie Caproni at the Thurgood Marshall Courthouse.
On Tuesday, the NY Times reported Cuomo’s sister said she never told the Governor about the fundraising effort.
The Governor’s office has not yet commented on the allegations involving Madeline Cuomo.
