NY: Macy’s 4th Of July NYC Fireworks Spread Out Over Six Nights
New York, NY (77WABC)-Macy’s and NYC have announced that the annual July 4th fireworks display will be back live this year bigger and better than ever. It’s the nation’s largest Independence Day Celebration. No crowds were allowed to view the partially taped event in person last summer due to the viral pandemic.
NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio also announced that the Coney Island Fireworks Display will immediately follow the conclusion of the Macy’s Fireworks display.
Will Coss the Vice President and Executive Producer of Macy’s Branded Entertainment, said “on Sunday, July 4th at approximately 9:25 pm the 45th annual Macy’s 4th of July fireworks will ignite in a jaw-dropping salute to our nation.”
Coss said the event will feature five barges lining the East River in midtown Manhattan Macy’s will launch more than 65,000 shells and effects “delighting spectators in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn lining the waterfronts and millions more on television and nationwide.”
The two-hour event will be televised live on NBC. Coss said the entertainment lineup includes The Black Pumas, Cold Play, Onerepublic, Reba McEntire, and many more.
