New York (77WABC) – Bitcoin dropped about 6.3% last night after Elon Musk sent out what seemed like a breakup tweet on Twitter, complete with a broken heart emoji, according to Bloomberg.

Musk uses lyrics from the song “In the End” by Linkin Park in the tweet.
About an hour later, he replied to his original tweet.

In May, Musk told customers that they would no longer be able to use Bitcoin to buy a Tesla. He said, “the environmental fallout of the energy required by the servers (is) underpinning the cryptocurrency.”
It’s been a rough month for Bitcoin according to CNN News, as prices fell almost 40% in May, which was their worst month since September 2011.
