Observing Memorial Day takes on different forms for Americans. Most commonly, Americans host or head to a barbecue and spend quality time with family and friends. Some follow traditions each year, go on vacation, or hit the beach to catch the rays.
This Memorial Day will be different in the fact that the country is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after nearly fifteen months of living with a pandemic that halted life as we know it. COVID-19 restrictions have lessened over the last few months as more people get vaccinated with nearly half of adults living in the U.S. being fully vaccinated as of Tuesday, according to Forbes.
Enjoy the unofficial start of summer as beaches open up and lifeguards return to their posts. Take time to reflect and remember all of those who have passed on and sacrificed their lives for the freedoms that we hold.
