A Third Victim Dead A Second Suspect Arrested in a Mass Shooting in NJ

Fairfield Township, NJ (77WABC)-NJ State Police have announced that a third victim of a mass shooting at a Fairfield Township Birthday Party has died and a second arrest has been made. 11-0thers were injured after a gunman opened fire from a wooded area during the house party on Commerce Street Saturday night.

The third victim is identified as 19-year-old Braylin Holmes of Millville City, NJ, a college student. She was one of the 14 people shot. State police say she had been declared clinically dead and was pronounced deceased last evening at Cooper University Hospital.

Troopers say 30-year-old Darrell Dawkins was an attendee at the party. The Bridgeton man is charged with numerous weapons offenses, although police say he does not appear to be the suspected shooter.

On Monday, 36-year-old Kevin Dawkins was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with the shooting.

Investigators have not revealed whether the two men were related.

The two other shooting victims are identified as 30-year-old Kevin Elliott and 25-year-old Asia Hester.
