Brooklyn, NY (77WABC)-Police say a man who lives at an East 95th Street apartment complex allegedly set Tuesday’s fire which killed one person and injured six others.
Police say 30-year-old Cedric Jacobs was seen lurking around the fire scene. He is charged with eight counts of assault and one count of reckless endangerment, more charges are pending.
Fire officials say an apartment door was left open causing the 4:55 am fire to spread more quickly.

One of two people who jumped from the second floor died and the other was seriously hurt.
Five others including one firefighter suffered less serious injuries.
