An Asian man was pushed onto subway tracks in Queens Monday morning, adding another incident to a growing list of hate crimes against Asians.
According to the NYPD, around 7:45 am police responded to an assault in progress at the 21 Street/Queensbridge “F” subway station. When they got there they found a conscious 35-year-old man with a cut to his forehead.
According to ABC 7, bystanders on the platform pulled him to safety before he could make contact with a train. EMS transported the man to Mt Sinai-Queens in stable condition.
Police say that there haven’t been any arrests, but the suspect is described as a black male around 20 to 30 years old, 5’11” to 6’0″ in height, who wore a mask, a black hooded sweater and black pants. The suspect ran out of the station to the street and fled in an unknown direction.
