Bronx, NY (77WABC)-A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene after the driver of their BMW slammed into the back of a Whole Foods Truck on the Southbound Major Deegan Expressway.
The fatal crash happened just after midnight near Heath Avenue.
The names of the two people killed have not yet been released.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
The subsequent crash investigation shut down southbound lanes for hours with traffic diverted to West 230th Street.
