A 75-Year-Old Queens Woman Attacked After Stepping of an MTA Bus

Queens, NY (77WABC)-A 75-year-old woman was assaulted after she stepped off the ‘Q36″ bus at the corner of  Hillside Avenue and Edgerton Boulevard  Saturday afternoon around 1:30. Police say the woman had no sooner stepped off the MTA bus when she was approached by an unknown individual who punched her in her forehead with a closed fist and fled.

The woman sustained substantial pain as a result of the physical attack. She was treated and released from an area hospital for her injuries. Police have not released the name of the woman who was assaulted.

The suspect in the attack is described as an adult male, dark complexion, medium build, approximately 5’6″ tall. He was last seen wearing a white surgical mask, an orange du-rag, a black hooded jacket, multi-colored pants, with orange and black sneakers, and carrying an orange and gray backpack.

Surveillance video and a photo of the suspect are attached. Police say they were taken from a commercial establishment on Hillside Avenue.

Police are asking the public to help identify the assailant.
