Brooklyn, NY (77WABC)-32-year-old Shalimar Birkett of 13-45 Beach Channel Drive in Queens, NY was fatally shot in her head late Monday night while attending a vigil for a victim of a homicide.
Birkett was shot just after 11 pm outside of 1769 Park Place. She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where she died from a gunshot wound to her head.
A 32-year-old woman was attending a vigil in Brownsville around 11 p.m., when a car drove up and someone inside opened fire on the crowd. She was struck in the head, fatally. The vigil was for someone who had been shot fatally less than 24 hours earlier. https://t.co/y57GbOZ8Kf

She was part of a crowd of people mourning 31-year-old Miles Bobbsemple, who was dropped off at Kings County Hospital early Monday morning with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
No arrests have been made in connection with either homicide.
