Deer Park, NY (77WABC)-A West Babylon teenager is under arrest facing his first court appearance today for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old outside of Popeye’s located at 1670 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park.
The teen was stabbed around 8:40 pm Monday night following an altercation between the two men. The teen was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Suffolk County Police arrested 19-year-old Erick Hernandez-Rodriguez of 104 Essex St. after the man turned himself in at the First Precinct at approximately 9:40 p.m.
First Squad detectives charged Hernandez-Rodriguez with Assault 2nd Degree. He was held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on May 4.
Police have not detailed just what led to the altercation between the two teenagers.
