NYC To “Fully” Re-Open July 1st

New York, NY (77WABC)-Appearing this morning during a televised interview on MSNBC, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio said NYC is ready to fully re-open from Covid-19 closures as of July First. You can listen to his comment below on MSNBC:

The Mayor credited 6.3 million vaccinations to date in NYC, adding “this is going to be the summer of New York City,” in announcing the decision following closures due to the Covid-19 Viral Pandemic which began in March 2020.

The Mayor said the reopening includes theatres but did not specify Broadway which DeBlasio last said was scheduled to reopen in September.

As of today, anyone 16 years of age and older can receive a Covid-19 vaccine at state-run mass vaccination sites in NY without an appointment. However, an appointment is needed for a second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

City-run vaccination sites are also open to those 16 and up:

State-run mega vaccination sites are operating at the Javits Center in Manhattan, Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, and Citi Field in Queens.
