Suffolk County, NY (77WABC)-A man who allegedly stabbed a Suffolk County Police Officer in a leg artery causing him to nearly bleed to death appeared in court Wednesday. Jonathan Nunez pleaded not guilty to ten charges, including DWI and assault, in the stabbing of Officer Christopher Racioppo on April 10th as the officer attempted to apprehend him for driving a stolen vehicle in Patchogue.
Fellow officers and officials were outside court yesterday after Nunez made his appearance. Below are comments Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart, County District Attorney Timothy Sini, County PBA President Noel DiGerolamo:

The 31-year-old officer is recovering at home after being released from Stony Brook University Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Nunez remains held.
