Four Men Found By Police Transporting A Dead Body In Their Trunk Are Charged In Connection With The Woman’s Murder

Queens, NY (77WABC)-Three of four men spotted by NYPD officers in the middle of the night transporting a “large object” that turned out to be the body of a 31-year-old  Nazareth Claure of Queens are charged with murder in the woman’s death.

21-year-old  Jose Sarmiento and 20-year-old Rigel Yohairo,  of 11-16 Foam Place in Queens,  where the suspects were seen by police placing the woman’s body in the trunk of their vehicle during the early morning hours of April 14th, are charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say 22-year-old Allan Lopez of 22-40 Mott Avenue in Queens is charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The fourth suspect, 26-year-old Rodolfo Lopez,   of 1602 Mermaid Avenue in Brooklyn, NY  is charged with the Concealment of a Human Corpse and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Officers say they became suspicious shortly before 2 am in the morning after observing the four males exiting 11-16 Foam Place in Far Rockaway carrying a large, unknown object. The suspects placed the “object” in their trunk and drove from the area. Police stopped their vehicle in the vicinity of Nassau Expressway and Bayview Avenue where they discovered the woman’s body wrapped in a blanket in the trunk of the vehicle. The four defendants were placed under arrest at the scene.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

Police have not yet released details as to where and how the woman was killed or a motive for her murder. The relationship between the defendants and the victim has not been made public.
