New York, NY (77WABC)-The New York City Police Department's Asian Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating yet another incident targeting an Asian American in NYC, this time within the subway system. Around 11:30 Thursday morning, a 34-year-old woman was seated on a stationary southbound "Q" subway train when she was the victim of aggravated harassment by a male suspect who then fled the station. Police say the suspect aggressively pointed his finger in the woman's face making several derogatory anti-Asian statements. The woman was not hurt. There have been more than 50 hate crimes against Asian Americans in the five boroughs since the start of 2021 following the viral pandemic believed to have originated in China. A cell phone photo of the individual, taken from the incident location, is attached to the left.  Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this individual is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
