Newark, NJ (77WABC)-Detective investigating Monday’s shooting of a 2-year-old in Newark, NJ say the toddler was a victim of a “targeted” shooting.
Authorities have not revealed who the intended target of the shooting was.
Police say the child was shot in Newark’s Central Ward on 14th Avenue and South 6th Street.
The child was rushed to University hospital and reported in stable condition. The toddler is expected to survive.
During the shooting, the driver of a vehicle crashed into a traffic sign and a building but was able to flee the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
