Four Dead In A Triple Murder-Suicide At The Van Dyke Houses in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY (77WABC)-Police received a 911 call from a 9-year-old girl shortly before 11:30 pm Monday from inside an apartment at the Van Dyke Houses where three people had been shot to death.

Responding officers discovered three women dead inside the fourth-floor apartment on Sutter Ave. in Brownsville. Police say the victims are the girl’s mother and two sisters. Names of the girl’s mother, 45-years-old, her sister 20-years-old, and a teenage sister have not been released. All three died of fatal gunshot wounds.

During the investigation, police received a second 911 call about a male shot in the vicinity of Mother Gaston Boulevard and Sutter Avenue, in the same complex where the three women were discovered.

Officers found a 46-year-old man on the walkway of 563 Mother Gaston Boulevard, unconscious and unresponsive. He’d suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, believed to be self-inflicted.

Police say two firearms were recovered from both the deceased male and the location where he was found.

An investigation is ongoing.
