Flatlands, Brooklyn (77WABC) – A horrific crash involving an ambulance and a car in Brooklyn turned fatal and injured several others in the process.
The impact was so great, the FDNY Ambulance overturned and was seen by witnesses skidding along the street.
Video was captured by bystanders and posted to the Citizens App.
Authorities said the black Nissan Maxima was traveling westbound on Avenue N while the ambulance was going southbound on Schenectady Avenue at around 3 p.m.
Witnesses say they rushed to the accident scene and describe the impact of the collision between the ambulance and car as “earth-shattering.”
Police tell 77WABC there were two people in the Nissan Maxima and a six-person crew was working inside the ambulance, on a 95-year-old woman who was accompanied by a man believed to be her son, who was 67-years-old.

Investigators said that woman was a patient and tragically died. The 8 other individuals, which included the two passengers inside of the Nissan Maxima, the six ambulance workers and the family member of the 95-year-old patient inside of the ambulance were all taken to area hospitals and suffered anywhere from minor to serious injuries.
As police continue to investigate the deadly Easter Sunday collision, they will be securing surveillance video from nearby cameras to determine the exact cause of the crash.
