WASHINGTON DC (77WABC) – The US Capitol remains on lockdown Friday after a car rammed into the Senate side barrier of the US Capitol and hits two officers with the car around 1 pm. The two officers as well as the suspect were rushed to the hospital. Two stretchers were seen on Capitol grounds. The suspect is in custody and his motive remains unknown at this time. There were also reports of gunfire.
The suspect was shot and killed by Capitol police officers after getting out of the car with a knife. The suspect was identified at Noah Green, a 25 year old Black man with ties to Virginia, who according to his Facebook posts was a follower of the Nation of Islam.
