(Queens, NY/77WABC)-Police say a 37-year-old man is in custody after allegedly killing his 71-year-old neighbor during a dispute over noise.
Police received a call of an assault in progress around 1:30 am inside of 89-32 138th St., in Jamaica Queens. Upon arrival, officers from the 103rd precinct found a 71-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive inside of Apartment #3C. Officers reported the man had obvious signs of severe trauma about his body. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Police say a 37-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene. Charges are pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
