A 4 year old boy with autism was reportedly kicked off a flight for refusing to wear a mask, do you think the airline was justified?
According to CBS News, an Arkansas woman, Callie Kimball, states that her husband and her 4-year-old son, Carter Kimball, were kicked off of a Spirit Airlines flight due to the boy not wearing a mask. Carter is autistic and non-verbal.
Callie told KTVH-TV that her son had a medical note from her son’s physician that entails that he is exempt from wearing masks.
Her husband and her son flew on Friday through Spirit Airlines to Las Vegas without any issues. However, upon the return flight, they were not allowed to stay on board even though her husband showed the flight employees the medical note.
Spirit Airlines has since issued a refund to the Kimball family and has implemented a mask mandate exemption application for travelers with a medical disability.
