Remembering Rush Limbaugh

NEW YORK (77 WABC) – Conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh has passed away at the age of 70. He succumbed to advanced lung cancer after being diagnosed in February 2020.

Limbaugh spent nearly five decades on the airwaves. He started his career at WIXZ, a Pennsylvania top 40 station, at the age of 20 after dropping out of college.

Limbaugh was heard on 77 WABC Radio from July 1988 to December 2013. The Rush Limbaugh Show was first nationally syndicated in August 1988.

Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Donald at the 2020 State of the Union address.
