(New York, NY/77WABC)-It hasn’t happened in 131 years. For the first time since the 19th Century, a Snowy Owl was spotted in NYC’s Central Park Wednesday.
A flock of sight-seers took to Social Media causing quite the stir.

The Snowy Owl was spotted by sight-seers walking the 3rd base line of the North Meadow Ballfield which is North of the 97th St. Transverse in Manhattan.
According to Wikipedia, the snowy owl is native to the Artic regions of both North America and the Palearctic, breeding mostly on the Tundra.
The Snowy Owl is sometimes referred to as the Polar Owl.
