The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday at an interchange of the Cross Bronx and Major Deegan expressways. The front half was left hanging from the bridge it was navigating with its fall broken only by a ramp below. The driver was seriously injured. Seven passengers suffered minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
The two-section bus is connected by a pivot that allows it to navigate turns. One half remained on the bridge. The other half was vertical with its front end smashed.
