New York, NY (77WABC) – EXCLUSIVE: The General Manager of a Staten Island bar,
who refused to shut down, has once again been arrested by NYC Sheriff’s Deputies.
Danny Presti, General Manager of Mac’s Public House on Lincoln Avenue, located in
the Grant City section of the borough, was taken into custody just after midnight Sunday
morning. Sheriff Deputies say he ran, got into his vehicle, and drove away from
authorities.
New York City Sheriff Joseph Fucito alleges Mr. Presti failed to adhere to orders, given
by uniformed deputies to be taken into custody. Sheriff Fucito alleges Mr. Presti struck
a uniformed officer, which then threw the officer onto the hood of Mr. Presti’s vehicle
and then allegedly drove approximately 100 yards before he finally stopped.
77WABC has learned that Deputy suffered two fractured legs and was rushed to Staten
Island University Hospital. Mr. Presti suffered no injuries, according to the Sheriff.
Tensions have been boiling over between the NYC Sheriff, the Mayor’s Office and
owners of Mac’s Public House for the last two weeks, after the establishment, defied
coronavirus restrictions and continued to serve patrons. Presti has said the Mayor and
Governor has done nothing to provide relief and support for small businesses who are
clinging to life – in order to survive the shutdown.
Mr. Presti, just hours before his arrest, said: “We’re struggling and a lot of people and all
of these businesses have lost a lot. In the beginning, we were ok to sacrifice, we
sacrificed and we sacrificed everything at this point. You have to take care of us.
Government is supposed to be there to protect you.”
In an exclusive interview on Sunday morning on “Judge Jeanine Tunnel to Towers
Foundation Sunday Morning Show,” Scott Lobaido, the leading Activist and Artist,
who help organize a massive protest outside of the bar on Wednesday, explained the
extraordinary struggle small businesses have faced.

Sunday morning’s arrest marks the second time Mr. Presti was arrested within a week
by New York City Sheriff’s Deputies. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, after
Mac’s Public House was slapped with fines, upwards of $50,000, and had their liquor
license revoked by the State Liquor Authority.
Dan Presti is expected to be arraigned on Sunday after he was processed at the 122 nd
Police Precinct. Charges against Presti, according to the Sheriff’s Office, are pending.
