NEW YORK (77 WABC) — Joe Biden has chosen Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate for the 2020 race against President Trump.

Harris, the senator from California and the former attorney general from that state, becomes the first Black woman and first South Asian American woman as a major party VP candidate.

Biden tweeted that Harris is a “fearless fighter for the little guy.”

Despite their dust-up at a Democratic primary last year, Harris, 55, has been a favorite since she was placed on the list of contenders when Biden announced he’d pick a woman.

Biden and Harris are expected to deliver remarks together Wednesday in Delaware.
