Con Edison offers $500 reimbursement for spoiled food

NEW YORK (77 WABC) — Con Edison has a target of Sunday night for bringing power back to the five boroughs. It’s anticipating getting electricity restored to Westchester customers by Monday night.

The utility company is also setting aside reimbursement for customers who lost food during the extended blackout.

Con Ed is reimbursing up to $500 for customers who lost power for at least 48 hours. The claim will cover spoiled food, medication and perishable commercial items.

The forms can be filed online or mailed in.
