NEW YORK (77 WABC) — More than 90,000 Con Edison customers in parts of Brooklyn are urged to conserve power while they make repairs.
The reduction request is in the communities of Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Borough Park.
The utility company lowered voltage by eight percent in those locations and in Windsor Terrace, Kensington, Flatbush and Bensonhurst.
ConEd said the equipment problems won’t affect the rest of the grid.
We are asking some of our customers on the west side of Brooklyn to conserve energy while company crews repair equipment. We have reduced voltage 8 percent in the area to protect equipment and maintain service as crews make repairs. #safetyfirst https://t.co/Bz5au8XhyN
