NEW YORK (77 WABC) — Mayor de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray took part in a painting of a Black Lives Matter mural alongside Trump Tower.
As de Blasio tweeted, the city isn’t just putting the words on Fifth Avenue, “We’re committed to the meaning of the message.”
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said, “What it says is America is towering over hate.”
President Trump tweeted last week that this action is “denigrating this luxury avenue,” and he called on de Blasio to “spend this money fighting crime instead!”
A Black Lives Matter mural was unveiled Wednesday in Harlem.
The mayor has pledged to paint several across the city.
