U.S.-NEW YORK-SUSPENDED SCHOOL
NEW YORK (77 WABC) — International students will be forced to leave the United States if their college offers classes entirely online this fall semester. These new federal regulations were released Monday by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The new ruling applies to students who are in the U.S. on F-1 and M-1 visas.
The rules say international students must take at least some of their classes in person. New visas will not be issued to students at schools or programs that are entirely online.
More than 1 million America’s higher education students come from overseas. The most international students are housed in New York City attending New York University and Columbia University.
