NEW YORK (77 WABC) — The city is expanding testing with NYC Health & Hospitals providing the antibody test at 11 acute care facilities.
Additionally, starting June 29, antibody testing will be offered at 11 Gotham Community Health Center locations.
As the five boroughs navigate through Phase 2 of the reopen, Mayor de Blasio warned that 22,000 city layoffs or furloughs would be coordinated for the fall, barring any expected funds.
“We are running out of money. There’s just no way in hell we’re going to get a lot of new revenue immediately,” he said.
Once the city reaches Phase 3, which the mayor said could happen as soon as July 6, outdoor recreational areas, including basketball, tennis, volleyball courts, will open.
Beachgoers don’t have to wait that long to swim. The mayor announced city beaches will open for swimming July 1.
"Right now we are on track for phase 3," says @NYCMayor. "That is exciting." Could be as early as Monday July 6.
