NEW YORK (77WABC) – Former Vice President Joe Biden is leading President Donald Trump by 14% in a new nationwide poll.

The New York Times/Siena College poll of 1,337 registered voters shows Biden leading among women and nonwhite voters. Biden’s 50% to Trump’s 36% is the largest margin the former Vice President has seen this year.  Biden is ahead or effectively tied in every age and ethnic group, and he leads by 21 points among independent voters.

According to the poll, nearly three-fifths of voters are unhappy with Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Black Lives Matter movement has played a big role in Trump’s ratings. 61% of voters says they disapprove of the President’s handling of race and his response to the protests over the killing of George Floyd.

Keep in mind, national polls don’t always predict the outcome.
