NEW YORK (77 WABC) — Governor Cuomo said a planned phase one reopening in New York City will lead to a focus this week on the city’s hospital system.
The MTA is also preparing for the city’s restart with cleaning and disinfecting.
“They have another week of work to do, and they will be ready,” Cuomo said.
Indicators are declining, although the number of death stayed flat from the previous day with 67 deaths.
The governor said they are targeting the 10 “hot spots,” neighborhoods where cases are still generated– six in the Bronx, three in Brooklyn and one in Queens. Cuomo said they are adding 10 more test sites in each of the zip codes.
Cuomo signed an executive order providing death benefits to the families of front-line workers who were lost to COVID-19. “We will always be there for you the way you were there for us,” he said.
