NEW YORK (77 WABC) — An NYPD officer was arrested and charged Thursday in the murder of a childhood friend in Farmingdale last week, Newsday said.

Rookie cop Errick was charged with second-degree murder. The arrest warrant was reportedly issued Wednesday.

Allen, who started on the force last year, was suspended for 30 days without pay after the shooting, NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan had announced previously.

A spokesperson for Nassau Police was not able to confirm the arrest to WABCRadio.com.

Christopher Curro, 25 of Massapequa, was shot in the head on the evening of May 12.

Curro and Allen had both attended and graduated from Farmingdale High School.
