On Sunday in the rain I visited the Clove Lakes Nursing home on Staten Island which has been brought to our attention by many of our WABC callers. The nurses and aides do not have the proper equipment. They have been forced to take in Coronavirus patients. Loved ones and friends have had difficulty reaching the patients inside and worse they were not told that coronavirus patients were being accepted into the facility during the pandemic.
Ironically, I was told upon entering that I had to wear a mask. I then pointed to the very New York City Health Department advisory posted in their window that said the opposite. Read it; it says if you are healthy you do not need to wear a mask. Instead of having a discussion with me about this posted warning they chose rather to warn me that I had to leave the facility NOW. The lockdown continues, Cuomo doubles down on demanding that nursing homes take coronavirus patients while loved ones and friends are left to worry about the fate of those inside.
