NEW JERSEY (77 WABC) – Police broke up an engagement party in Lakewood, NJ on Tuesday afternoon, charging 10 individuals with violating the state’s ban on gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Tuesday was the third day in a row authorities had to break up a gathering in Lakewood. The Jersey town has been busted for gatherings over 30 people both Monday and Sunday, and prior to that three different weddings were interrupted. This all went on despite Governor Murphy’s ruling on March 21 to ban all gatherings, including parties and weddings.
Please stay home before this hits home, like it has for 267 of our families.

There were six children present at Tuesday’s gathering, which lead to the couple hosting to be charged with six counts of child endangerment. They were also charged with violating the Governor’s orders, as were the additional 8 people who were present.
As of Tuesday, Lakewood was reported to have 438 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
