WresleMania takes place at MetLife Stadium, Sunday, April, 7, 2019 Wrestlemania
Syndication: NorthJersey
While professional sports continue to be delayed and major events either get canceled or postponed, the WWE has decided to make alternate plans to their biggest event of the year rather thank canceling.
World Wrestling Entertainment will still host their WrestleMania event on Sunday April 5th, originally scheduled to be in Tampa Bay, FL, at their home training facility in Orlando. The twist? The show will be held with no fans in attendance. You can read the WWE’s statement below.
“In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.”
Last year WrestleMania was held in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium and generated $16.9 million in revenue, hosting over 80,000 fans.
The WWE held their first show without a live audience this past Friday from their Performance Center in Orlando. This is the company’s plan for the immediate future.
