As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL players have voted to approve the new CBA, giving the league 10 more years of labor peace.
According to Schefter, the vote was close, with the final tally being 1019-959. The league needed most players to vote for approval. The NFL owners had already voted to approve the deal back in February.
Changes coming to the league with the new CBA include a 17-game regular season, more playoff teams, increased minimum salaries and better benefits for current and former players.
The increase in playoff teams is expected to begin in the 2020 season, changing the playoff format from 12 teams to 14.
The new deal will run through 2030.
