Chazz-Palminteri-Bill-de-Blasio
NEW YORK (77 WABC) – Chazz Palminteri returned to Bernie & Sid in the Morning on Monday to provide a recap of his conversation with Mayor de Blasio on Friday.
Palminteri called in to WNYC to apologize to de Blasio for his comments towards Chirlane McCray, calling her “racist”. The two would end up having a heated back and forth. They eventually reached a truce, with de Blasio saying he will make a strong case for Mother Cabrini.
Palminteri wonders why she was left off the list in the first place after receiving the most votes in the “She Built NYC” statue program. And while he says his initial criticism of McCray was from being “really upset” and emotional, he still wants to know what leads to the decision.
The actor points out that he attempted to have discussions with de Blasio earlier, but never heard back. This ultimately prompted him to call in on Friday during “Ask the Mayor”, and Palminteri says he does feel better after their conversation.
